Abstract
This presentation is meant to give a snapshot of the main physics arguments in favor of the construction of a TeV e+e− collider and to describe a possible scenario leading to a worldwide machine. Simple arguments are given concerning the machine parameters and the criteria guiding the R&D on detectors.
