Abstract
We present a study of the prospects for measuring the t¯t production cross-section with the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. This paper describes the t¯t production cross-section measurement in the single lepton (t¯t → e(μ) + jets) √and the dilepton final states. The early tt pair cross-section measurements at √s = 10TeV using simulated data will be shown, with a particular emphasis on the understanding the backgrounds through data-driven methods. These techniques are intended to re-establish the top signal at the LHC with early data at √s = 7TeV.
