Abstract
In this paper the evidence of a Higgs-like boson candidate in the H → WW → lνlν channel, observed by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, is presented. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb−1 at a center-of-mass energy of 8TeV and 4.6 fb−1 at 7TeV. The analyses focuses on the search of the Standard Model Higgs Boson with mH = 125 GeV. The significance of the observed excess of events over the expected number of background events is 3.8; the expected value is 3.7. The ratio between the observed and expected numbers of events is consistent with unity, μ = 1.0 ± 0.31.
