Abstract
Borexino is a large-volume liquid scintillator experiment designed for low energy neutrino detection, installed at the National Laboratory of Gran Sasso (LNGS) and operating since May 2007. This contribution presents the very rich physics program that the Borexino experiment has already achieved in the neutrino physics fields. The physics potentialities and the future perspectives of the so-called “Borexino phase 2” are also shortly described.
