Abstract
Based on data samples of 5.2 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider with center-of-mass energies (√s) from 4.009 to 4.600 GeV, the processes e+e− → π+π−ψ(3686) and e+e− → π0π0ψ(3686) are studied. The Born cross sections are measured. A charmonium-like structure around 4040 MeV/c2 is observed in the πψ(3686) invariant mass spectrum.
