Abstract
A summary of the recent results obtained by the CMS experiment regarding the search for rare decays in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV is presented. These results include the search for the decay τ → μμμ and the first observation of the decay η → μμμμ. Additionally, improvements to the trigger system for Run 3 and their implications for this type of research will be discussed.
