Abstract

To improve the ESI 2007 Scale, moderate-to-strong earthquakes, worldwide, are analyzed by various working groups, in order to compare the obtained intensity values with those assessed with conventional scales (MM, MCS, MSK, EMS, JMA). We present a contribution of Italian WG with a basic scope of reassess the historical events occurred in the same region by comparing environmental effects and damage-based intensity in order to contribute to reduce risk from environmental effects in earthquakes-prone areas.
