Abstract

Oracle B2B is the component of the Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Suite that provides the secure and reliable exchange of documents between businesses e.g. Retailer, Supplier, and Manufacturer. This type of eCommerce, B2B, represents mature business documents, classic business processes and industry specific messaging services and requires an architecture to manage the complete end-to-end business process. Together with the Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle B2B meets this challenge and provides an architecture enabling a unified business process platform, end-to-end instance tracking, visibility, auditing, process intelligence, governance, and security [1]. The Oracle SOA Suite is one of the application infrastructure product included in the Oracle Fusion Middleware, which is a collection of standards-based software products that spans a range of tools and services: from Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) and developer tools, to integration services, identity management, business intelligence, and collaboration. Oracle Fusion Middleware offers complete support for development, deployment, and management. Specifically, a middleware is the software layer that lies between the operating system and the applications, and connects software components or enterprise applications on the side of a distributed infrastructure. Typically, middleware supports complex, distributed business software applications and moreover it also facilitates the creation of business applications providing core services like concurrency, transactions, threading, messaging, security, high availability and the Service Component Architecture (SCA) framework for SOA applications. In this report, the setup of an Oracle B2B environment and its configuration to exchange ebXML messages with Hermes 2.0 environment is presented. In particular this includes the creation of a VM based on the Oracle Linux distribution, the installation of an Oracle B2B environment with all the related software, the creation of the agreements between two trading partners on the Oracle side and the creation of their respective partnerships on Hermes 2.0 side. In the last three chapters, two Graphic Web Applications for the exchanging of ebXML messages are presented
