Abstract

We present a review of entropy properties for classical and quantum systems including Shannon entropy, von Neumann entropy, R´enyi entropy, and Tsallis entropy. We discuss known and new entropic and information inequalities for classical and quantum systems, both composite and noncomposite. We demonstrate matrix inequalities associated with the entropic subadditivity and strong subadditivity conditions and give a new inequality for matrix elements of unitary matrices.
