Abstract
In this article we present the results of an interdisciplinary study which combines expertise in the field of Geographical Sciences and Communication sciences with a view to promoting the cultural heritage of the Italian town of Gaeta in the southern Lazio region. Considering the significant impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in shaping tourist behaviour, we have created a digital tool - an app - which aims to promote an integrated approach to cultural heritage in this Italian town. After carrying out a thorough analysis of tourist flows and the hospitality sector, we have decided to seek the involvement of tour operators, so as to ensure the highest level of participation and promote the town of Gaeta as a sustainable and smart destination for culture tourism.
