Abstract
The Pierre Auger Observatory investigates the origin and nature of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs) using a hybrid detector. An introduction to the hybrid detector and a review of selected results are presented with an emphasis on the measurement of the cosmic ray energy spectrum and mass composition.
