Abstract
There is significant ongoing efforts in ATLAS to better understand QCD effects. These proceedings contain some examples highlighting recent results. Studies were carried out covering a wide range of QCD phenomena, which include the production of φ mesons in minimum bias events, processes involving photons and jets, and the measurement of the W plus charm jet production. In these analyses the data are compared at particle-level with theoretical predictions and Monte Carlo simulations. In general, a good agreement between data and the predictions is found for a wide spectrum of observables. Several of the presented results provide input to the tuning of the parton distribution functions.
